Stanford WBB lands commitment from 2023 forward Nunu Agara

On Monday, Stanford women’s basketball landed a commitment from 2023 wing/forward Nunu Agara out of Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Agara announced her commitment on Instagram and is the first commit for Stanford in the 2023 class.

Agara is listed at 6’1”, so she has good size for both a wing and a forward. She’s left handed and uses that to her advantage on both ends of the floor, whether it be shooting, passing, or shot blocking. She is really a jack of all trades type of player. Very well rounded that can do a lot of different things on the floor.

More specifically, Agara is capable of shooting from the outside, but also uses her size well to score inside. She’s an unselfish player who is willing to pass the ball to open teammates on the perimeter and also inside. She does a good job of finding teammates who are cutting to the basket. Defensively, she’s very active around the rim, doing a nice job of blocking shots and getting rebounds. She has a high motor and plays with a lot of fire and passion.

Looking ahead to her time at Stanford, Agara should bring a lot of different things to the table and be used in variety of ways. Both out on the perimeter and in the post if needed. She’s definitely a player that Tara VanDerveer and her staff have to be excited about adding to their program.
